In reality Italian kitchen has many more great tastes to offer. Every region has its own speciality and every Italian is convinced his or her region has the very best gastronomy in the world. In de coast areas a wide range of fish dishes is to be found, whereas in the inland the meat dishes take the main part of the menu; in the mountains the kitchen is different as well. Anyway, you’ll find pasta everywhere in Italy, in all shapes and sizes.
For the average Italian, food is very important in life. Often people spend hours and hours at the table and besides enjoying the tastiest dishes, social life plays an important part. This certainly counts for the south of Italy where people still take their time to cook and eat. The Italian is very proud of Italian products and meals, especially those made by mama.
