Campania and Basilicata have plenty of art, culture and nature to offer. Especially Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast are small gems. The Cilento, in the southern part of Campania, might be less known, but is also more than worth a visit. The same applies to the Basilicata region.

During this trip you will stay at three different agriturismos in the countryside. Every region has its own overwhelming nature, culture and attractions. You will experience the beauty of Campania and Basilicata from very nearby.

10 day individual roundtrip in agriturismos

Day 1 - 4
Your car will be waiting for you at the airport of Naples, to allow you to immediately take off. Your first destination is the Cilento, about an hour and a half south of Naples.

Agriturismo I Fornari will be your home for the first three days. You will immediately feel at home in this lovely accommodation in the beautiful undiscovered Cilento. I Fornari is strategically positioned to explore the beautiful Cilento coast and the many cultural treasures of the Cilento. A few recommendations:

• the national park ‘del Cilento e Vallo di Diano’
• Agropoli and the ancient site of Paestum
• Punta Licosa and the ‘blue caves’ of Palinuro
• a day at one of the sandy beaches
• the remains of Velia
• the monastery of Padula

Day 4 - 7
Your will continue your journey and move to Basilicata. Maria Giovanna and Pepino of Agriturismo La Foresteria di San Leo will pamper you for the next three days. Their accommodation is situated on a peaceful and panoramic location in the hills. It is the perfect base camp to make several daytrips. Some tips:

• the national park Dolomiti Lucani
• the castles of Venosa and Melfi
• attend a free cooking class at the agriturismo
• the forest of Gallipoli Cognato
• linger by the pool

Day 7 - 10
From Basilicata you drive back in the direction of Naples, to Agriturismo La Vecchia Quercia, where you will spend your last three nights. The azienda is just south of Naples. A great place from which to undertake some excursions. Some suggestions:

• see Naples before dying…
• the Amalfi Coast, with Ravello, Amalfi and Positano
• Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius
• a visit to Capri, Ischia or Procida
• Sorrento and the peninsula of Sorrento

After ten days of culture, sea, nature and gastronomy your holiday ends here. You return the car at the airport and take the plane home.

Tip: it is possible to extend this roundtrip with for example a few nights in the charming Naples.
